This past week, one of the Leavitt Breeders was featured on a television show on BBC 1 entitled ‘Saving the British Bulldog’. The Show was a documentary on the current state of the British (English) Bulldog, the health problems they pose and what is being done or can be done to save the breed.
Jessica and her dogs, Ruby, Arthur and Penny sat down (Okay Jessica and Catherine sat! ) with Catherine Tate so that she could see and learn about the Leavitt breed, how health testing is done and really put hands on these dogs.
The documentary was really well done and there were interviews with breeders, judges, the Kennel Club President, veterinarians and scientists. It was really well done and thorough.
One of the Leavitt breeders managed to save the show on YouTube for our viewing pleasure! The full show is an hour and the Leavitt portion is about 4 minutes. If you want to know the difference between the English Bulldog and the Leavitt Bulldog and pros and cons, this is a great start at educating yourself!
